My husband and I have getrennt.Nun nearly three years, I do not know where he is. How can I purchase insurance, we will have almost 20 years. Or how will I know when to cheat or not?

Who owns the policy and who has been paying the premiums?
Once he’s dead, you call the insurance company and ask them to send you the claim forms. You fill them out, and turn them in with a copy of the death certificate. The beneficiary gets paid.
If you are not the policy owner, then you do not control who is the beneficiary.
If you’re asking, how will you know when he dies, well, if you’re not in contact with him or any of his family members, you won’t know.
You can’t claim the insurance money till he has passed away and yes you will have to be aware of it. At which point you can call them up, it takes some time, several weeks at least before you’ll receive any money.
